A humble plan

James Boag established his brewery in 1881, with a humble plan to use the outstanding local ingredients to produce the finest beer in the world.

over 160 years of brewing tradition

Over 160 years ago, James Boag moved halfway around the world from Scotland to the untamed island of Tasmania. There he began a tradition of brewing excellence on the banks of the Esk River in Launceston that has continued to this day.
